Anna Nasset

I am victim/survivor of multiple forms of gender-based violence, throughout my life, since the age of three years old. Mostly, I am known for being stalked for the last fifteen years, which led me to become an international speaker on the subject. I am one of very few people who can speak openly about my experience after the man who stalked me received the maximum sentence for aggravated felony stalking—ten years in prison—in 2019. This is one of the longest known sentences for this crime in US history. I decided to turn my experience into creating the standard for services that stalking and gender-based violence victims should receive.

Turning the harm that I have experienced into speaking and advocacy was fueled for a simple reason: to serve the people who have served me. When I look back over the years, the law enforcement, advocates, prosecutors, and judges who believed me, fought for me, and ruled in my favor are what kept me going through the process. Being believed and supported gave me the courage to see the strength in myself. I work to ensure others receive the same incredible services and can go through the journey to justice in whatever form that looks.

“It’s not that there is anything particularly significant about my life. I’ve experienced what countless others have experienced – a lifetime of gender-based violence, which, for me, happened to be at the hands of men. I’m not special; I’m not unique. I am set apart in that I have the privilege to share my story when millions of others cannot. My only hope is that my words will allow other to not only have a voice but have a life.” – Quote from Now I Speak

I reside in the Green Mountains of Vermont with my three-legged chihuahua, Dolly Parton. I released my first book, Now I Speak, in late 2023.
