Sexual Assault Forensic Exam (SAFE) Program Coordinator, WCJ


Sarah Magliano, MSN, APRN, WHNP-BC is the Sexual Assault Forensic Exam (SAFE) Program Coordinator for the WCJ, the Certified Rape Crisis Center for the Jacksonville, FL metro area. Sarah has been working in sexual and reproductive health since 2016 when she became a Labor and Delivery nurse. She then became a Certified Nurse-Midwife and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner in 2020 after completing her Master’s in Nursing at Georgetown University.

Sarah has been with the WCJ since Jan 2022, where she performs medical forensic exams as a Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner. In addition to direct service as an examiner, Sarah supports the SAFE Program and works with community partners to best serve survivors in Northeast Florida. She is dedicated to providing trauma-informed care in the forensic exam setting to survivors of all genders and strives to help bring awareness to the services offered by the WCJ. She also works with local hospitals to train Emergency Department (ED) staff on the Medical-Forensic Exam process, as well as how to best provide trauma-informed care to survivors who present directly to the ED.
