Administrator, Sexual Assault Survivor’s Task Force


Nicole Martinez serves as the Administrator for the Sexual Assault Survivors’ Task Force (SASTF) within the Public Safety Office at the Office of the Texas Governor. Ms. Martinez was the Associate Administrator for two years before becoming the Administrator. Prior to joining the Task Force, Ms. Martinez worked as a Grant Coordinator for the Governor’s Child Sex Trafficking Team. Preceding her work at the Governor’s Office, Ms. Martinez worked with the Texas Municipal Police Association (TMPA) for thirteen years. She was the Program Manager of the Advanced Child Abuse Investigation Training Program; a statewide training curriculum for law enforcement and the Leadership Academy: Texas; a school-based prevention program, which focused on encouraging and inspiring student leaders. Before managing these programs, she was the Program Analyst for the Sexual Assault Family Violence Investigator’s Course (SAFVIC) at TMPA. Ms. Martinez proudly served on the Texas Association Against Sexual Assault (TAASA) Board of Directors from March 2013 to December 2018 and is a past President. Through her service on the TAASA Board of Directors, Ms. Martinez was the link between sexual assault advocates and the law enforcement community across the state. She continuously encourages collaboration between all professionals and working together to end sexual violence across Texas and beyond. Ms. Martinez received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice with an emphasis in Law Enforcement and minored in Forensic Psychology at Texas State University. While attending Texas State University, she was a member of Lambda Alpha Epsilon, a criminal justice fraternity that is part of the American Criminal Justice Association.
