Staff Attorney and Criminal Records Relief Coordinator


Maggie Miller is a Staff Attorney and the Criminal Records Relief Coordinator at the Chicago Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation (CAASE) where she focuses her practice exclusively on representing survivors of sexual harm in their interactions with the legal system. In particular, she represents victims of sexual violence in the prosecution of their offenders and in their pursuit of civil relief against them. She also assists survivors of human trafficking obtain relief from criminal records they received as a direct result of their victimization. Representing survivors with some of the most lengthy and complex criminal records CAASE has encountered, Ms. Miller works closely with the policy department to develop strategic, systemic responses to the realities she learns from her clients during her efforts to clear their records and she trains other attorneys on criminal records relief practice. Before joining CAASE, Ms. Miller served as a Domestic Relations Division Staff Attorney in the Office of the Chief Judge in the Circuit Court of Cook County and as a member of the Access to Justice Commission of the Supreme Court of Illinois’ inaugural Self-Represented Litigant Coordinator Program. Prior to her role with the Circuit Court, she practiced in a variety of areas including family law, domestic violence, medical malpractice, personal injury, immigration, and child protection.
