Maggie McGuire currently serves as a Research Assistant at the Begun Center for Violence Prevention Research and Education supporting research projects with the Sexual Assault Kit Initiative, the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center, and the LGBT Center of Greater Cleveland. Maggie has been involved in anti-sexual violence work for over 8 years. Starting as a hotline volunteer at the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center, she then held multiple positions with the Ohio Alliance to End Sexual Violence where she coordinated statewide events, supported grant management and publication, and managed the survivor resource and referral line. In 2017, she presented the workshop “Better Data, Stronger Stories” at the Ohio Attorney General’s Two Days in May conference. In December 2019, Maggie will defend her capstone research for a Master of Public Health from Consortium of Eastern Ohio Master of Public Health on improving LGBTQ cultural competency trainings in healthcare settings.
