Lisa A. Tieszen, M.A., LICSW, (she/her) is Senior Partner with Resilience Works where she trains and consults nationally on projects including the Vicarious Trauma Response Initiative, funded by the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC). She was a lead team member in the Vicarious Trauma Toolkit Project. Ms. Tieszen spent over 35 years in healthcare organizations, developing and directing projects responding to patients and staff affected by trauma. These projects include Advocacy for Women & Kids in Emergencies (AWAKE at Boston Children’s Hospital) and Safe Transitions (now Center for Violence Prevention & Recovery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston). Actively engaging with organizations and teams, through training and consultation, Ms. Tieszen works to strengthen their resilience and enhance their overall health, with an emphasis on trauma-informed principles. She consults widely to domestic and sexual violence programs as well as legal services groups and works clinically with survivors of childhood and adult trauma in her private psychotherapy practice in Brookline, Massachusetts.
