Katherine Manners (she, her, hers) is Senior Partner and co-Founder of Resilience Works, providing training, technical assistance, and consultation to victim service, law enforcement, medical, legal and crisis responder programs. She has more than 30 years of direct service, supervision, and program development in victim & survivor services. She provides organizational consulting and training, especially on the topics of trauma-informed care, vicarious trauma, staff wellness and homicide bereavement. As part of the State Victim Assistance Academy (SVAA) Resource Center, Ms. Manners provided training and technical assistance to SVAAs nationwide, in various stages of development and need. Currently, she is providing training and technical assistance for several federal grants including the Vicarious Trauma Response Initiative with the International Association of Chiefs of Police. She has served as the Resource Coordinator for the Office for Victims of Crime Vicarious Trauma Toolkit, providing research and material development for trauma-serving organizations. She develops curricula and trains nationally on the experience and needs of homicide survivors for trauma services providers, victim, and legal services. She provides crisis intervention counseling, critical incident debriefings and therapy for victims of crime, providers and first responders.
