Founder, Resilient Edge Wellness
Karen Van Ness (DMQ, DCEM, CPT) is the founder of Resilient Edge Wellness, a health and wellness company providing Clinical Qigong and energetic treatments, health coaching, Qigong and breathwork lessons, and books and courses. Karen is a Doctor of Medical Qigong and Chinese Energetic Medicine, a Certified Personal Trainer, and a Certified Qigong Therapist and Instructor. She has a BA in Psychology and Biology from Dartmouth College and an MS from Johns Hopkins University. As a practitioner, Karen works from a body-mind-spirit paradigm which considers the patient’s whole being to help them tap into and enhance the body’s innate ability to self-repair, heal, and improve. She combines time-tested principles and strategies from medical qigong (a 5,000-year-old healing tradition), breathing disciplines, martial arts, and fitness training with emerging technologies such as energetic blood work analysis, DNA testing, and remote coaching technologies to create a customized wellness and treatment protocol for each patient. Karen specializes in working with patients with chronic, frustrating health conditions or challenges which may have developed over time or in response to an acute injury or event. This includes people who have experienced a traumatic incident (including post-traumatic stress) and those within the helping professions who experience vicarious trauma because of their work. She provides in-person and virtual (distance) consultations and treatments. Karen also teaches qigong and breathwork in group classes in the Austin area, one-on-one with students, and through books and online courses. Her goal is to help individuals tap into the vibrant energy already within, so you they can become more resilient, healthier, and happier. Learn more at www.ResilientEdgeWellness.com.
