Conference and Training Coordinator / Board Liaison


Janelle Buckley began working for End Violence Against Women International (EVAWI) in 2016, bringing more than 14 years combined experience in program, vendor, and event management, as well as marketing and accounting, working primarily in the high-tech industry. Her background is unique in that she has worked in client delivery, operations, and analytics. She uses her cross-functional knowledge to drive business decisions through her work and is a results-driven professional. 

In Buckley’s role as the Conference and Training Coordinator, she is responsible for planning the complex logistical details of EVAWI’s annual International Conference, which requires exceptional organizational as well as interpersonal skills to work effectively with a wide range of people. Buckley works closely with the CEO to create the annual conference agenda, coordinates speakers, manages volunteers and scholarship recipients, and secures venues to host VIP gatherings. She is also responsible for managing staff and presenter travel details, accommodations, and reimbursement. To generate proposals from subject matter experts to present at EVAWI’s conference, Buckley manages the annual call for proposals which elicits hundreds of submissions.  

In Buckley’s Board Liaison role, she serves as the critical connection between staff members and the Board of Directors, as directed by the CEO. In addition to facilitating communication between the Board and CEO, Buckley also tracks monthly Board service hours, maintains official documents for the Board Secretary, monitors and tracks Board terms, manages monthly Board meetings, administers policy and document review timelines, and maintains the Board document library. Buckley’s key contributions to EVAWI led to her recognition as Employee of the Year in 2020. 

Buckley graduated from Colville High School, in Colville, Washington. She remained in the area with her husband, where they raised three sons. When she is not working for EVAWI, Buckley enjoys spending her spare time outdoors at her family’s lake cabin and being an active volunteer in her community.
