Heidi S. Bonner, PhD. is an Associate Professor and Department Chair in the Department of Criminal Justice at East Carolina University. She received her doctorate from the University at Albany, SUNY and also holds Master of Science, Master of Arts, and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Criminal Justice. Her research focuses on the administration of the criminal justice process, with an emphasis on police decision making and the effects of policies and programs on police operations, including intervention in intimate partner violence. Dr. Bonner is a Senior Fellow at the John F. Finn Institute for Public Safety (Albany, NY) and serves on the Institute’s Board of Trustees as well as on the Board of Directors for the Center for Family Violence Prevention. In 2016, Dr. Bonner was awarded a 30-month subcontract from the Office on Violence Against Women to serve as the Local Evaluator for the Domestic Violence Homicide Prevention Demonstration Initiative (DVHPDI) for Pitt County, NC.
