Heather Dooley is a Project Manager for the International Association of Chiefs of Police. She managers the OVC Enhancing Law Enforcement Response to Victims (ELERV) initiative and co-manages the OVC Law Enforcement-Based Victim Services (LEV) Program. She oversees demonstration sites and grantees, develops training content and resources, and delivers training and technical assistance on victim-centered, trauma-informed practices in law enforcement agencies. Ms. Dooley previously served as the Social Services Program Coordinator for the Travis County Sheriff’s Office Victim Services Unit in Austin, TX. She managed the volunteer and internship programs, provided services to victims of crime/crisis circumstances, and trained agency personnel. Ms. Dooley participated in community-wide collaborations, including initiatives focused on enhancing sexual assault response, promoting a trauma-informed approach to intimate partner violence, and improving outcomes for children and families in the child welfare system. Ms. Dooley holds a Master of Social Work and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
