Forensic Nursing Specialist


A forensic nursing specialist for the International Association of Forensic Nurses, Diane Daiber provides technical assistance for the Office for Victims of Crime demonstration grant project entitled, Using Telehealth to Improve Care, Access and Quality of Sexual Assault Forensic Exams. As the technical assistance provider, Ms. Daiber has worked step-by-step with the four project demonstration sites to ensure the development of trauma-informed, patient-centered teleSAFE programs that will improve access to quality sexual assault exams and promote collaboration with the local multidisciplinary partners. During her tenure with IAFN, Ms. Daiber provided oversite for the development of the Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women’s (OVW), National Protocol for Sexual Abuse Medical Forensic Exams (Pediatric) and ongoing technical assistance and training on both National Protocols. She has extensive experience as an instructor for the IAFN Adolescent/Adult and Pediatric Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner courses, SAFE clinical skills lab and other forensic nursing related topics as well as being a contributing author for multiple National protocols and standards. She has over 40 years of clinical experience as a registered nurse, including forensic nurse program development and management.
