Courtney Olson

Executive Director, Rainbow House Domestic Abuse Services

Courtney Olson is the Executive Director of Rainbow House Domestic Abuse Services, Inc. serving North East Wisconsin and bordering communities in Michigan. With a Master’s Degree in Labor and Employment Relations and a Bachelor’s in Psychology, Ms. Olson worked in healthcare human resources. Her background in volunteering and board leadership provided the opportunity to transition into domestic violence advocacy in 2001. Ms. Olson returned to Rainbow House in 2013, when her friend and former colleague, Trish Waschbisch, was murdered by her live-in boyfriend. In the aftermath of this tragedy, Ms. Olson and Lead Advocate, Jessica Honish, realized how few coordinated services were available for family and loved ones left behind as a result of domestic violence homicide. As a result, Ms. Olson and Jessica founded Hope Domestic Violence Homicide Response Team, and they developed a website: www.domesticviolencehomicidehelp.com. Since its launch last year, almost 50,000 visitors from around the world have turned to this unique resource for information and assistance.
