Chief of Police, Commerce City Police Department


Clint Nichols is the Chief of Police for the Commerce City Police Department. He began his career with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in 1992. During his tenure in Las Vegas, Nevada, he attained a variety of ranks and positions, including working as a Lieutenant for 11 years in the Robbery/Homicide Bureau. In 2015, he retired from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and relocated to Commerce City, Colorado to take a position as a Police Commander. In 2017, he was appointed as the Chief of Police. Since his appointment, Chief Nichols has navigated the organization through the Department of Justices’ Collaborative Reform Efforts. A program focused on improving the level of police service to the community through partnerships, transparency, respect and collaboration. Chief Nichols is a wealth of information surrounding complex and high-profile criminal investigations, such as the Las Vegas OJ Simpson Kidnapping and Robbery investigation, which he supervised. Chief Nichols has master’s degrees in Communication and Business Administration.
