Carol Wick, MS

President & Chief Executive Officer, Sharity Inc., Maitland, FL

Carol Wick’s passion for protecting families from violence is the hallmark of her career. First as a therapist for abused children and later leading one of the nation’s largest domestic violence centers. There her evidence-based community approach became a model for centers nationwide, a tenure which included the construction of one of the first, onsite stand-alone kennels and a global award-winning domestic violence screening app. Carol works to change systems, most recently passing Donna’s Law in 2020, to eliminate the statute of limitations for the rape of children and Gail’s Law in 2021, the first rape kit tracking law in Florida. Her grassroots advocacy system is now being replicated nationally by RAINN. In 2016, she opened a global consulting firm and the Violence Against Women and Children Center for Capacity Building focused on making nonprofits stronger and more sustainable. Carol is currently on the UN Women – Violence Against Women Expert Roster as a Violence Against Women Expert. She holds a bachelor’s from Florida State University, a master’s from Auburn University, and Certificates in Board Governance from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, and in Advanced Entrepreneurship from Rollins College Crummer School of Business.
