Women’s Services Coordinator, Center for Court Innovation
Carlotta is employed by the Center for Court Innovation as the Women’s Services Coordinator in the Queens Hidden Victims Project. She provides a comprehensive trauma-informed response for female and transgender defendants in the Queens Misdemeanor Treatment Court (Human Trafficking Intervention, Drug Court and Mental Health Recovery) who are victims of human trafficking, domestic violence and sexual assault. Ms. Walcott also facilitates training for service providers and multi-disciplinary teams on human trafficking awareness, gender-based violence, trauma and trauma informed care themes. As a woman in ministry who has navigated the complex experience of intimate partner violence, she focused her thesis on “The Response of Christian Faith Leaders to Intimate Partner Violence within their Faith Communities.” Ms. Walcott uses her research findings to engage the faith community in critical facilitated conversations, training and education around intimate partner violence.
