DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO:
WORKS TO END THE CULTURE OF SILENCE FOR GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE
SPARKS A NEW WAY OF DOING THINGS
MAKES A DIFFERENCE FOR VICTIMS AND THEIR LOVED ONES
INSPIRES OTHERS TO JOIN THE MOVEMENT
Game Changers are people who work to create positive changes in the community response to sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and other forms of gender-based violence. They help victims achieve justice and healing, and promote offender accountability.
Who is a game changer?
Game Changers spark a new way of doing things. They also understand that collaborative effort is needed with other professionals and stakeholders, including survivors and their support people. While this work can be difficult and frustrating, Game Changers persevere so victims in their community receive more competent and compassionate services, and perpetrators are more likely to be held accountable.
How do we recognize our game changers?
Individuals selected to be Game Changers may be featured on the Start by Believing website and in other EVAWI communications. If they agree, their information will also be made available to people across the country and around the world, who can contact them for valuable lessons learned.
Can I nominate myself?
Of course! Just provide the information required for a nomination and get a colleague to sign on as a secondary contact. We look forward to hearing from you!
