Jacqueline Callari Robinson

Jacqueline Callari Robinson has been a nurse for more than 30 years, and a forensic nurse examiner for 23 years. Ms. Robinson served as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Educator and Clinician at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, New York. In this rural area, she provided leadership to advance a forensic program, ensuring that Nurse Practitioners and nurses were sufficiently trained to conduct pediatric and adult/adolescent forensic exams. She also worked closely with the Otsego Child Advocacy Center to offer the community the best care possible, including timely exams for children.

Before that, Ms. Robinson served as the Director of Sexual Assault Prevention, the Statewide Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Coordinator, and a consutant in the state of Wisconsin for more than 10 years.

In conjunction with the Wisconsin Coalition Against Sexual Assault and the Wisconsin Department of Justice, she created a statewide training program for Adult/Adolescent and Pediatric SANEs. This program met the educational guidelines of the International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN) for nurses throughout the state of Wisconsin and accross the country.

Ms. Robinson is certified as a SANE-A and SANE-P through the IAFN. She is also certified in New York and New Jersey, specifically in evaluation of sexual assault patients. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and she has served in several positions with the IAFN, including Past President of the Wisconsin Chapter, Director at Large, and multiple committee positions. In addition, Ms. Robinson served as board member for Wisconsin Coalition Against Sexual Assault and Wisconsin Planned Parenthood.

As a leading expert in the field, Ms. Callari Robinson has presented at local, state, and national conferences on topics ranging from forensic program development, strangulation, community partnerships, and the implementation of forensic programing. With the desire to marry the clinical experiences and academic requirements in Forensic Nursing, Ms. Callari Robinson is pursuing a Ph.D. at Binghamton University. She is currently conducting research on access to forensic care in rural areas and within vulnerable populations.
