The key to the success of any non-profit organization begins with effective leadership and a strong board of directors. The board of directors serves as the business arm of the organization responsible for ensuring that their vision, mission and bottom line is achieved. Today, non-profit organizations are challenged with the reality of operating during difficult economic times impacting program services, fund development, recruitment of professional staff and overall program operations. Executive Directors often wear multiple hats in their quest to effectively and strategically manage the day-to-day operations of the organization. Although board members are generally not involved in the day-to-day aspects of managing an organization, it is essential that they are engaged as a partner in this collaborative effort to ensure its success which must include developing a well thought out strategic plan that will help prepare and guide the organization through the often transitional and challenging times.
This webinar has been designed for executive directors, chief executive officers, financial officers, treasurers, program administrators, victim service professionals and board members of non-profit or community-based organizations. The goal will be to walk participants through the fundamentals of non-profit management, helping them to understand the principles of board governance, guide them through the board development process and how to work with the board of directors on the importance of collaborative organizational partnerships, and finally, long-term visioning achievable by creating a solid foundation and road map through strategic planning which is an essential tool and can be the hallmark to attaining organizational success.
