How can we increase reports to law enforcement so that sexual assault victims get connected to services and offenders are held accountable? This is the question the Washington State Attorney General’s Office set out to answer in 2024 by encouraging local communities to provide Seek Then Speak as an additional reporting option and resource hub.

A growing number of communities across the state have implemented the tool, providing a new way for survivors to privately and securely gather information, explore options, and begin the process of reporting at their own pace.

Hear how the Washington State Attorney General’s Office promoted Seek Then Speak by creating a statewide website and encouraging adoption by law enforcement, advocates, and medical professionals. Learn about the statewide strategy, the multidisciplinary advisory group, and the benefits, challenges, and lessons learned since the launch in April of 2025.
