Technology Alliance Partner

VictimLink LogoIn 2016, EVAWI began partnering with Ten8Tech, a technology company offering a cloud-based digital communication platform for law enforcement, to create Victim Link, a national platform for sexual assault reporting to law enforcement, victim advocacy, and college campuses.

The heart of Victim Link is the victim-focused portal Seek Then Speak, where victims and their support people can gather information, explore options, and take action. Survivors can connect directly with supportive services and report to authorities — but only when they are ready, at the time of their choosing. These resources form a personal technology bridge for victims to get the help they need and pursue the justice they deserve.

In September 2017, the Office for Victims of Crime, U.S. Department of Justice awarded EVAWI grant funding to enhance services for victims of crime across the nation. With this opportunity, a limited number of one-year, no-cost Victim Link subscriptions are available for eligible law enforcement agencies and victim advocacy organizations. For more information and to apply, visit www.victimlink.com/nocost.

Our members influence policy and practice, thereby mitigating the negative health outcomes for patients worldwide. AFN is a nursing organization that promotes collaboration, and as such, membership is open to physicians, attorneys, law enforcement, advocates, social workers, and community stakeholders. The AFN membership also demonstrates transparency, collaboration, and mentorship, thereby creating scholarship, education, and service legacies for forensic nursing generalists for future generations of nurses responding to trauma with care.

SHADES provides a full non-investigative service to Survivors of Sexual Assault and Harassment. It is overwhelmingly supported that sex crimes are the most under reported crimes. SHADES aims to provide services to Survivor’s whose choice would delay reports to law enforcement. When reports of Sexual Assault are delayed it can affect the ability to secure physical evidence, and can lead to questioning the credibility of statements. This could affect prosecution and holding offenders liable. SHADES will allow Survivors the ability to provide and protect those crucial pieces of property, while remaining anonymous until THEY ARE READY. SHADES will secure all testimonial and physical properties for up to 50 years. When the Survivor is ready to make the choice to report to any agency, for criminal, civil, or administrative investigations; they will have the properties to support their report. SHADES fully elective services include: Statements, Sexual Assault Kits, Property Collection, Digital Examinations, and more. SHADES will work closely with LE and Prosecutors to support their local practices and procedures; and liaison with local advocates to refer Survivors using our services. A Survivor’s reaction after an incident should have no expectations about the choices they make, or limit their ability to hold offenders accountable. There are many choices Survivors can make, SHADES provides an additional choice. PROTECT YOUR CHOICE.

SUNY SPECTRUM is the nation’s largest education conference devoted to preventing and responding to sexual and interpersonal violence against members of the LGBTQI+ community. It provides opportunity to network with colleagues, and access to low-cost, repeatable, implementable programs and solutions to reduce violence against LGBTQI+ students and community members, and to provide the most trauma-informed and culturally-competent response and care when incidents do occur. We welcomed more than 600 attendees representing 25 states in 2018 at the inaugural SPECTRUM conference. Conference attendees represented a diverse range of professionals including public and private campus staff, service providers, medical professionals, law enforcement officials, government agency representatives, students, and more. The training is intended to increase capacity of those working with victims/survivors of sexual and interpersonal violence, reduce barriers to accessing services, and provide a deeper understanding for those committed to a trauma informed approach. Concurrently, by bringing a diverse mix of attendees and speakers to a central location, we will promote networking among different sectors, leading to continued growth, new initiatives, and strengthened partnerships among previously siloed agencies and organizations. Finally, we will increase the knowledge of attendees, and the communities they serve, about important programs and resources offered by colleagues across the country.
