Dr. Speck is globally recognized for her work as an expert Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Advanced Practice Forensic Nurse. Her broad-ranging expertise covers areas as diverse as public health and forensic nursing, policy and curriculum development, research and program evaluation. Currently serving as an Associate Professor and Program Director for Global Outreach at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing, Dr. Speck’s research focuses on the relationship between victimization and health and the evaluation of therapeutic interventions to improve victim recovery. Dr. Speck has devoted her life to helping victims, and she works tirelessly to ensure that this work continues by mentoring the next generation of graduate nurses. Her impact on the field of forensic nursing is profound.

Please help us celebrate Dr. Speck’s achievements and honor her legacy by purchasing a brick in this virtual Tribute Wall. All the proceeds will be used to fund scholarships for forensic nurses to attend our annual international conference on sexual assault, domestic violence, and other forms of gender-based violence.
